More About E. Dwayne Karateew, DDS

E. Dwayne Karateew, DDS, believes that dental education is a lifelong process for any successful dentist. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University before completing a year-long Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Karateew also attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he earned diplomas in both periodontics and fixed prosthodontics. He has been a faculty member of several academic institutions, including the University of Washington, where he taught in the postgraduate prosthodontics program, and the University of British Columbia, where he served as the director of implant surgery and taught in the undergraduate prosthodontics and the postgraduate periodontics programs. Dr. Karateew has served on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics (CARDP) and is currently a sessional lecturer at several universities, including Columbia University, The University of Pennsylvania and the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Karateew works diligently to advance the field of restorative dentistry, and his research has been published in several leading journals. He is the principal mentor of five study clubs throughout British Columbia and is a frequent lecturer at national and international peer conferences, including CARDP, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Iranian National Dental Congress.
