Dr. Makarita was raised in Mclean, Virginia. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the American University, and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry. He has received numerous gold medals from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry for his smile designs and also received its People's Choice award in 2003. His work was featured on the cover of the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Makarita's clinical expertise and commitment to education in aesthetic neuromuscular dentistry helped him attain Mastership status with the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, where he is a clinical instructor and regional director. He is a Fellow of the International College of Oral Implantology. In addition, he is a Fellow of the International Academy for Dental Facial Aesthetics and is affiliated with several prestigious organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics and the European Society of Esthetic Dentistry.
