A well-respected leader in the field of cosmetic and restorative dentistry, Dr. Pitts earned the prestigious Doctor of Science in Dentistry degree – the highest degree available in the field of dentistry. This designation is held by fewer than 1 percent of dentists worldwide. She has also passed the rigorous examination required to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry – a coveted status held by only 45 cosmetic dentists in the 25 year history of the AACD. Dr. Pitts strives to put all of her patients at ease by providing them with undivided, compassionate attention and personally addressing all of their concerns. To further enhance patient comfort, Dr. Pitts provides them with private operatories, warm blankets, soft pillows and special goggles so they can enjoy their favorite movies while in the dental chair. For patients who suffer from dental anxiety, Dr. Pitts offers oral conscious sedation. Taken in the form of a small pill prior to dental treatment, oral sedation allows patients to relax while greatly reducing their discomfort.
At Dr. Pitts' state-of-the-art facility, patients can receive a range of advanced cosmetic dentistry treatments. She uses the latest dental technologies, including digital x-ray equipment, dental lasers, intra-oral cameras, gum and teeth contouring, non-orthodontic teeth alignment and power teeth whitening. Rebecca K. Pitts, DMD, DDS, DScD, FAACD, earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the highly regarded Boston University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Dr. Pitts also completed a specialized post-doctoral residency in advanced general dentistry techniques at this institution. She then enrolled in a rigorous five-year graduate program at Boston University Department of Restorative Sciences and Biomaterials, upon successful completion of which she was awarded the Doctor of Science in Dentistry degree in Advanced Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Pitts has taught clinical dentistry to pre-doctoral and post-doctoral dentistry students, and she also lectures frequently on the subject of cosmetic dentistry to dentists nationwide. In addition, she maintains active memberships with several prestigious professional associations, including the American Dental Association, the International Association for Dental Research, the American Association for Dental Research and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.
