Dr. Sahiwal and her team at Atherton Center for Advanced Dentistry focus their practice on prosthodontics, which includes dental implants, dental veneers, dental crowns, dental bridges and dentures. Prior to the procedure, she meets with patients individually to discuss any questions, explain the procedure and create a personalized treatment plan. Dr. Sahiwal is committed to providing outstanding care in a relaxing atmosphere, which is why her office is equipped with neck pillows, aromatherapy candles and a large library of DVDs and CDs to make the experience as pleasant as possible.
Dr. Sahiwal uses state-of-the-art materials and techniques when performing prosthodontic procedures. Her approach is based on the fundamental tenet of Additive Dentistry, which is to build on the healthy teeth already present, with minimal or no damage.
Subsequently, Dr. Sahiwal works with dental implants because they stimulate bone growth, prevent atrophy and loss of bone mass, and have minimal impact on adjacent teeth. Within implant therapy, she is one of the few dentists in the country to plan all of her implants virtually using a CAD/CAM software. Dr. Sahiwal also uses the teeth-in-an-hour approach when appropriate for the patient. In addition, she offers porcelain veneers that are individually shaped for each patient, as well as overdentures and customized complete or partial removable dentures.

About Indira G. Sahiwal, DMD, MS
Indira G. Sahiwal, DMD, MS, completed a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was awarded the Warner-Lambert Scholarship. She also performed field research in Fiji while studying at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Sahiwal continued her education with a Master of Science degree in Prosthodontics at the HSC-Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, where she earned the prestigious American College of Prosthodontics Education Foundation Scholarship. Dr. Sahiwal serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco Dental School Graduate Prosthodontics program. She is a member of several dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration and the California Dental Association.
