Lawrence Addleson, DDS, FAACD, of San Diego, California, is an internationally recognized leader in the field of esthetic cosmetic dentistry. He is highly respected by dental professionals worldwide as a general and cosmetic dentist, a mentor, an instructor and an advisor. Dr. Addleson is the founder of his practice, The Art of Dentistry, located in San Diego.
Dr. Addleson graduated in 1969 from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. In 1993 he earned accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and is one of only 42 dentists worldwide to complete the rigorous criteria for both accreditation and fellowship, the most prestigious level of clinical excellence achievable within the AACD.
Dr. Addleson has held many top positions within the AACD, including president, member of the Board of Directors and twice chairman of the Board of Governors. He has been chairman of the Educational Task Force Committee and the Education and Credentials Committee, as well as a board examiner for both accreditation and fellowship.
He is on the Editorial Review Board of The Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, a founder of the Southwest chapter of the AACD and a director and cosmetic dental advisor for the San Diego Advanced Study Group, a Seattle Study Club.

Gary Alex, DMD, of Huntington, New York, attended Penn State University on an athletic scholarship where he graduated with a degree in Biology in 1977. He then took advanced level graduate courses in chemistry and biology before working at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. He attended Tufts University Dental School where he earned his DMD in 1981. He has taken thousands of hours of continuing dental education over the last 26 years with an emphasis on occlusion, adhesion, comprehensive dentistry, materials and esthetics.
Dr. Alex has researched and lectured internationally on adhesive and cosmetic dentistry, dental materials, comprehensive dentistry and occlusion. He is an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and past president of the AACD New York Chapter. With a background in chemistry and adhesive technology, he is a consultant for numerous dental manufacturers and member of the IADR (International Association of Dental Research). He has written and had published numerous scientific articles and papers. He regularly conducts and participates in scientific studies on materials and adhesives. He has studied occlusion extensively with Dr. Peter Dawson (Center for Advanced Dental Study) and the late Dr. Bob Lee (Lee Institute) and is a member of the AES (American Equilibration Society). He has been the director of “PAC Live Ultimate Occlusion” and “Aesthetic Advantage Occlusion and Comprehensive Dentistry” programs. He is also co-director of the “Long Island Center for Dental Esthetics and Occlusion”. Dr. Alex is also on the editorial advisory board of, and has had a number of articles published in, the highly respected and peer-reviewed publications Inside Dentistry, Compendium, and Functional Esthetics and Restorative Dentistry. Thomas E. Dudney, DMD, of Birmingham, Alabama, is a 1977 graduate of University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Dentistry. He has served as the Clinical Director for the Aesthetic Advantage hands-on programs taught by Dr. Larry Rosenthal at New York University and the Eastman Dental Clinic in London. He is presently the Clinical Director for the California Center for Advanced Dental Studies (CCADS) programs taught in the US and the UK. In addition to teaching and lecturing, Dr. Dudney has authored several articles on Aesthetic Dentistry. Donald M. Jayne, DDS, of Seattle, Washington, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry in 1975. Following dental school, Dr. Jayne completed residency training at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He is a highly-trained professional committed to continued education programs that keep him abreast of the latest innovations and breakthroughs in dentistry. Dr. Jayne has been honored to give something back by teaching classes at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. During his professorship, Dr. Jayne founded the Harborview Medical Center Dental and Oral Maxillofacial Clinic.

Lynn Jones, DDS, of Bellevue, Washington, earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry. Dr. Jones remains committed to continued education designed to keep her on the cutting edge of esthetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Jones is a recognized leader in the field of cosmetic dentistry and the development of innovative management practices. A Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Dr. Jones has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on a variety of dentistry subjects. She is the founder and director of “Aesthetics, A Live Patient Continuum,” for the University of Washington, Department of Continuing Dental Education, and head instructor of the Summit affiliate chapter of the AACD.

Les Latner, DDS, MAGD, of Los Angeles, California, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed a two-year residency at the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and a specialized residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Southern California (USC). A noted lecturer on the subject of cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Latner currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Rebecca K. Pitts, DMD, DDS, DScD, FAACD, of Lake Mary, Florida, earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the highly regarded Boston University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Dr. Pitts also completed a specialized post-doctoral residency in advanced general dentistry techniques at this institution. She then enrolled in a rigorous five-year graduate program at Boston University Department of Restorative Sciences and Biomaterials, upon successful completion of which she was awarded the Doctor of Science in Dentistry degree in Advanced Restorative Dentistry.

Joel H. Berg, DDS, MS, is Professor and Lloyd and Kay Chapman Chair for Oral Health. He serves as the Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Washington and as Dental Director at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, Secretary-Treasurer for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Associate Dean for Hospital Affairs at the University of Washington, School of Dentistry. Dr. Berg previously held positions as Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Philips Oral Healthcare from 2000-2003, Head of the Scientific Department for ESPE Dental AG from 1998-2000, and Director of the Postgraduate/Residency Program in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas, Houston from 1989 through 1995, where he conducted numerous clinical trials evaluating restorative materials. He is the author of a multitude of manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters regarding a variety of subjects, including restorative materials for children and other work related to biomaterials, and is a co-editor of a textbook on early childhood oral health. Mahnaz Fatahzadeh, DMD, B.SC, obtained her B.SC. and DMD degrees as well as her GPR certificate from the University of British Columbia in Canada where she practiced general dentistry for a number of years. She completed her Oral Medicine fellowship and MSD degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she holds a faculty appointment as an Associate Professor. She is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral Medicine, has a special interest in the management of orofacial soft tissue disorders and has been involved with lecturing and publication in this area. W. Peter Nordland, DMD, MS, of La Jolla, Calif., maintains a private practice limited to oral plastic microsurgery. Over the years, Dr. Nordland has introduced many new surgical procedures and has developed his own microsurgical instrumentation. He enjoys teaching and is an assistant professor of periodontics at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, and Director of Microsurgery at Newport Beach Coast Oral Facial Institute. He is also one of the few fellows of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Nordland has presented more than 200 professional papers. He lectures internationally for esteemed organizations such as the American Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Osseointegration, the International Dental Federation, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and many of the state dental associations, including New York, Texas and California, in addition to most dental schools throughout the United States.
Dr. Nordland has authored or co-authored three textbooks, and written chapters and several journal publications on periodontal plastic surgery. He is a co-founder of the Periodontal Plastic Surgeons Study group that hopes to develop into an international academy, welcoming periodontists and oral surgeons with an interest in esthetic surgery.
Fern Ingber, MEd is the founding President and CEO of National Children’s Oral Health Foundation: America’s Toothfairy® (NCOHF), the only independent national non-profit children’s health organization exclusively focused on supporting direct delivery of comprehensive oral health services to break the cycle of preventable dental disease. She is committed to a strategic vision that will ensure all underserved children and their families have equal access to quality, comprehensive oral healthcare in their own communities.
Ms. Ingber has dedicated her career to providing skilled organizational leadership development and strategic planning services to nonprofit foundations and healthcare organizations across the country. As part of her long-standing record of achievement, Ms. Ingber served as founding General Manager of the National Marrow Donor Program and founding Director of the Department of Defense Marrow Donor Center. She was primary consultant for the formation of the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Network as well as the ACS Prostate Cancer Alliance, and later became founding Executive Vice President of the National Health Museum. Prior to facilitating the establishment of NCOHF in 2006, Ms. Ingber served as President & CEO of Cancer Treatment Research Foundation.
Ms. Ingber received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania with a minor in business development at the Wharton School of Business, and a graduate degree from George Washington University. Her grandchildren continue to inspire her to combine strategic and operational excellence with exemplary programs that place the vital needs of children at the center of her work.
