Richard J. Hagstrom is a premier cosmetic dentist who has been serving the needs of dental patients for more than 20 years. He is known as a "Physician of the Mouth," performing a wide range of general and restorative dental procedures, as well as oral and maxillofacial surgery. In order to provide his patients with the latest in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry, Dr. Hagstrom regularly attends the Dawson Center for Advanced Study under Peter E. Dawson, DDS, one of the most influential dentists in the country. In recognition of his advanced dental skills, Dr. Hagstrom was awarded the Lifetime Qualified Achievement Award by the Crown Council, a prestigious alliance of some of the world's most distinguished dentists.
In addition, Dr. Hagstrom is an active member of the community who participates in a number of local and national charities, including the Smiles for Life Foundation, helping less fortunate children who are in desperate need of dental care. He supports several San Diego State University (SDSU) sports teams and whitens the teeth of the SDSU Aztec Cheerleaders and Dance Team, as well as the Charger Girls. Dr. Hagstrom also performs Oral Cancer Screenings for the San Diego Padres.
Dr. Hagstrom operates a full-service dental practice and offers a number of advanced cosmetic procedures, including dental implants, porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges, Invisalign clear teeth aligners, teeth whitening and complete smile makeovers. He is an experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeon who performs bone grafting, wisdom teeth extractions, cleft lip and palate surgery, as well as the latest in TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder therapy. In addition, Dr. Hagstrom was one of the first dentists in the state to be certified in oral conscious sedation and is a charter member of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.

Richard J. Hagstrom, DDS, graduated at the top of his class from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry, where he also completed a residency in Myofacial Pain Dysfunction. He received advanced training in the treatment of dental phobia.
